To mark Stroke Awareness Month this year, we had the privilege of sitting down with Phil Woodford, a stroke survivor turned passionate advocate.
Phil now dedicates his time and energy to raising awareness and driving positive change across the stroke community. He also hosts the fantastic Head-Cast, a podcast in which he speaks with fellow stroke survivors, caregivers, clinicians, academics, and industry partners to share experiences, insights, and inspiration.

"One of the things that keeps me going and keeps me optimistic about stroke is the community. The amount of people who are willing to help make change and support these people. It is through charities such as the Stroke Association and Different Strokes Charity - Support for Working Age Stroke Survivors UK that really gives me hope that we’re making progress."
"I think life’s quite optimistic and I realized that there is life after stroke. I’ve spoken to people who are stroke survivors – magistrates, government lawyers – they can go on and still contribute to society. It doesn’t end for a lot of us; it’s just the beginning."
