Brainomix AI Technology Reveals Efficacy of Novel Neuroprotective Drug Candidate in Severe Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients

Brainomix announced results from its partnership with Argenica Therapeutics (ASX: AGN), in which its AI imaging was used to analyse data from Argenica's Phase II trial of ARG-007, a neuroprotective agent for acute ischemic stroke. Using Brainomix 360 Stroke — an FDA-cleared, CE-marked AI platform — together with its AI core lab and foundation-model imaging pipeline, the company applied standardized, objective imaging biomarkers (including e-ASPECTS) to address a core problem in stroke trials: variability in how baseline stroke severity is scored. The analysis confirmed statistically significant, clinically meaningful efficacy of ARG-007 in patients with severe strokes. Those presenting with larger infarcts showed significant improvement in neurological function at 24 hours and in disability outcomes at 90 days versus placebo, alongside significantly smaller final infarct volumes — a hallmark of neuroprotection. CEO and co-founder Dr Michalis Papadakis said standardizing assessment with AI removed variability and exposed a treatment effect that was previously hidden; Argenica CEO Dr Liz Dallimore said the findings let them design a precision-medicine next-phase study, selecting patients by objectively measured brain injury. ARG-007 is now advancing toward a more targeted Phase 2b trial.
